Karnataka DyCM lauds Jain varsity’s scholarship gesture
BENGALURU:
In a bid to facilitate the learning of students belonging to Covid-19 victims’ families, Jain (deemed) University has announced a 100% scholarship for such students pursuing its online degree programmes.
Dr Chenraj Roychand, Chairman of the Jain group of institutions and Chancellor of Jain (deemed) University, made the announcement in the presence of DyCM and Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, who visited the campus of the institution in Seshadripuram on Wednesday, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the group and the celebrations of Founder’s Day.

Dr Narayan said the gesture of the institution for children of Covid-19 victims, at a time when online teaching-learning has become inevitable due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was timely and generous.
Dr Roychand said, “The scholarship offered is the humble contribution of the Jain group to the efforts of the state government in ameliorating the condition of families who lost their earning members during the pandemic.”
College renovation
The DyCM also sought the help of the Jain group for the renovation of the stone building of the college located in Malleswaram 18th Cross and RC College, to which Dr Roychand responded positively.
