Bengaluru: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA C. N. Ashwath Narayan announced that a large-scale “Yuvotsava – Job Fair 2026” will be आयोजित in Bengaluru on the occasion of Basava Jayanti, in collaboration with the Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayan Foundation. The event will be held at the SHVN Government Women’s Pre-University College premises in Malleshwaram.
Addressing a press conference, he said the job fair is inspired by the philosophy of “Kayakave Kailasa” given by Basavanna, emphasising the dignity of work. He noted that similar job fairs have been organised in the Malleshwaram constituency for several years, benefiting thousands of job seekers.
The event will be held from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM with the objective of “Employment for All.” Bharat Career Connect is partnering in organising the fair.
Ashwath Narayan stated that the fair will provide a comprehensive platform for career guidance, skill development training, entrepreneurship support, and financial inclusion initiatives aimed at empowering youth. Job seekers will get opportunities for direct interaction with recruiters, on-the-spot hiring, and career exploration.
More than 100 companies from sectors including IT, manufacturing, banking, healthcare, retail, logistics, and services are expected to participate, offering over 5,000 job opportunities. Candidates with qualifications ranging from PUC, ITI, diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate degrees, as well as those currently pursuing studies, are eligible to participate.
He added that at least 1,000 candidates will benefit from skill enhancement, training, self-employment guidance, entrepreneurship development, and livelihood opportunities through the fair. The event is open not only to residents of Malleshwaram but to job seekers from across Bengaluru. Facilities including food and other arrangements will be provided, and special focus will be given to creating opportunities for differently-abled individuals.
The fair will also feature career counselling sessions to guide youth on choosing the right education and career paths. “Education alone is not enough; skill development is equally important,” he said, stressing the need for practical knowledge alongside academic qualifications.
Highlighting employment initiatives of the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said the event aims to complement efforts to create job opportunities and encourage youth to become job creators.
Pre-event online sessions will be conducted across five divisions starting Monday, and a hackathon will also be organised during the job fair. Experts and industry leaders are expected to participate and share insights.
Various stalls from central government agencies, including the Regional Directorate of Skill Development, Jan Shikshan Sansthan, NSDI, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, and the Postal Department, will be set up at the venue.
