BENGALURU:
An FIR has been filed against Sangati Venkatesh, a former BJP corporator, and his supporters for allegedly intimidating an auto driver. The incident occurred when the auto driver, Manoj Kumar, was putting up a poster criticizing MPs’ endorsement of carpooling and was subsequently threatened with death.
The Hanumantanagar police station received a complaint from Manoj Kumar, leading to the registration of a case.
On November 17, while picking up passengers near Sankarnag Circle in the city, Venkatesh and his companions intercepted the auto driver. At that moment, Manoj Kumar and other drivers removed the poster displayed on their vehicle, which expressed disapproval of MP Tejaswi Surya’s support for the carpooling system. In addition, the complaint states that they were subjected to verbal abuse. Furthermore, the complaint alleges that they were threatened with severe consequences if they returned to the area.
