Bengaluru: In a significant development, a Special Court for Economic Offences in Bengaluru granted default bail on Tuesday to Kannada actress Ranya Rao and her co-accused, Tarun Konduru Raju, in connection with a gold smuggling case.
The court determined that both individuals are entitled to statutory bail and ordered their release upon the execution of a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh each, supported by two sureties.
However, the court imposed several stringent conditions on their bail. They are required to appear before the court for all scheduled hearings without exception, fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation, and refrain from tampering with evidence or attempting to influence witnesses.
Additionally, the court has prohibited them from leaving the country without prior permission and mandated that they avoid engaging in any similar offenses during the bail period.
The court issued a stern warning, emphasizing that any violation of these conditions could result in the cancellation of their bail.
