Bengaluru: A shocking incident unfolded in OMBR Layout, Banaswadi, on Tuesday night when a stationary bus caught fire, leading to the discovery of a charred male body inside.
According to officials, the blaze broke out at around 10:45 p.m. Locals, spotting the flames, immediately alerted the fire department. Firefighters rushed to the scene, doused the fire, and found the burnt remains of a man inside the vehicle. Ramamurthy Nagar police subsequently visited the spot and began an investigation.
Police sources revealed that the bus owner had parked the vehicle on a roadside near his residence with plans to sell it. However, in recent days, local youths had been entering the bus at night, chatting and loitering inside despite the doors being locked. Officers suspect that a quarrel among these individuals may have led to foul play, resulting in the man’s death before the bus was set ablaze.
The victim’s identity remains unknown, and a case of suspicious death has been registered. Authorities are pursuing multiple angles to determine whether the incident was accidental or a deliberate act. The investigation is ongoing, police confirmed.
