Once police clearance is obtained, applicants can pay arms licence fee online or at BangaloreOne centres
BENGALURU:
Following the launch of an online facility to obtain an arms licence, the Bengaluru police have now provided the specific online link for the purpose.
In a press release on Friday, City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said, “On September 30, 2021, Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra launched an online arms licence portal of the Bengaluru city police for the convenience of the citizens of Bengaluru. Therefore, all arms licence holders and those who wish to apply for a fresh arms licence are requested to hereafter submit their applications at http://www.armsbcp.karnataka.gov.in.”
Pant’s release further said, “The above portal is user-friendly and the available online forms are exact replicas of the arms licence forms. While applying online, the applicant will have to upload all the required documents along with the application. Using this portal, the applicant can apply online at his convenience. Once the application is received in the office of the Commissioner of Police, it will be automatically processed and if the application is approved, the prescribed licence fee would have to be remitted through online mode or at BangaloreOne centres.”
Applications through both the modes — online and physical — will be accepted in the office of the Commissioner of Police till October 15, 2021. Thereafter, applications and licence fees will be accepted only online.
Citizens have been requested to avail the arms licence-related services on www.armsbcp.karnataka.gov.in, and save themselves repeated visits to the office of the Commissioner of Police.
