Dashboard has real-time data on hospital-wise and zone-wise beds availability
BENGALURU:
BBMP on Thursday launched a public dashboard containing real-time information on bed availability, zonal-wise booking and admission and discharge data of patients.
The dashboard is part of the reforms being implemented to fix the loopholes in BBMP bed blocking system by Member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya, tech volunteers and senior BBMP officials. A citizen can view the dashboard by visiting the website https://apps.bbmpgov.in/covid19/index.html.
On the dashboard, a citizen will be able to view the live status of occupancy and vacancy for every type of bed, availability of every type of bed in hospitals, and the total number of admitted patients zone-wise. The dashboard also provides information on the changes made in bed allocation (scenarios where a patient is moved from a general bed to an HDU bed or providing a ventilator for a critical patient) for the last seven days.
“I am happy to share that we have taken one more step towards transparency in the hospital bed blocking system in BBMP,” Surya said. “The new public dashboard gives real-time data on hospital-wise bed availability. Zone-wise data is also live.
The new real time public dashboard for hospital bed availability launched by @BBMPCOMM today will bring more transparency and accountability in the bed allocation process.

Joint effort
“This public dashboard will give details of beds available, type of beds per hospital, data on zone-wise booking, admission and discharge data of patients in every hospital and other relevant data points. I thank the BBMP Commissioner, other officials, tech volunteers and the team which made this possible.
“I thank the hardworking tech team from Product Nation, eGovernance Foundation, tech volunteers Sri RK Misra, Sri Sharad Sharma from iSpirt and many others for contributing to these changes.”
Earlier, Surya held detailed discussions with the officers in charge of Covid-19 management and tech experts. Four changes were implemented last week which are already active in the system.
A patient now gets an instant SMS alert after a bed booking, while two-factor authenticated person-specific login has also been introduced in the system. Several more reforms like a digital queuing system for bed allocation are in the pipeline and will be introduced in a week’s time.
