BENGALURU:
Following BBMP’s tie-up with Care India Foundation, around 80 vaccine two-wheelers and 16 mobile vaccination vans (cars) were flagged off on Wednesday by BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta.
Each zone will get 8 two-wheelers and 2 mobile vaccination vans for block and lane level vaccination, along with a data entry operator in each vehicle.
Mass vaccination venues
Till date, 1,36,99,018 doses have been administered in Bengaluru, of which 80,57,563 are the first dose (88 per cent) and 56,41,455 the second dose (62 per cent). In the Palike limits, all Urban Primary Health Centres have been administering vaccines. Yelahanka’s Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan and Malleswaram’s Youngsters Kabbadi Playground have been the venues for the Bruhat Lasika Mela which has options for walk-in and drive-in vaccination.
To increase the pace further, a block and lane level vaccine drive has been taken up. Wherever citizens have taken the first dose and not the second dose, they will be identified and vaccinated by reminding them over the phone.
