BENGALURU:
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has condemned the vandalism and arson committed by a mob belonging to a particular community in the city on Tuesday.
The police have arrested more than 100 persons for the rioting which was allegedly triggered by a social media post. Two rioters were killed and 10 injured in firing by the police to control the situation in the KJ Halli and DJ Halli areas.

The CM said the government had taken all measures to control the situation. In a tweet, he condemned the attack on MLA Akhand Srinivasa Murthy’s house and the KJ Halli police station.
He said the attacks on the police, journalists and members of the public were condemnable, and that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators. The CM appealed to people to maintain peace and refrain from taking the law in their hands.
