Paraguay-Cambodia Delegation Visits Bangalore City University – Proposal for Academic Partnership
BENGALURU: A delegation led by Paraguayan Ambassador to India, Fleming Duarte, and Cambodian Consul Karthik Tallam recently visited the Gyanjyothi Campus of Bangalore City University to discuss potential educational partnerships.
Upon their arrival at the Central College campus, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Lingaraj Gandhi, the Vice Chancellor of Bangalore City University. They engaged in discussions with the university administration and senior professors to explore opportunities for academic and research collaboration.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Gandhi highlighted the university’s commitment to introducing new courses in the departments of Science and Technology, Commerce and Administration, and Humanities to cater to the evolving needs of the new generation. He also mentioned that Bangalore City University has established joint partnerships with 12 foreign universities in areas such as public health, environmental protection, and smart city projects.
Expressing keen interest in forging an educational partnership with BCU, Paraguayan Ambassador Fleming Duarte announced that a delegation led by the Education Minister would soon visit Bengaluru to formalize an agreement. He proposed the creation of an educational exchange program in collaboration with BCU, a city-centered university in Bangalore known for its expertise in the information technology sector.
Karthik Tallam noted the linguistic similarities between Cambodia and India, particularly the closeness of the Cambodian language to Kannada. He expressed enthusiasm for educational cooperation with BCU.
The delegation also included BCU Registrar T. Javare Gowda, Registrar (Evaluation) Prof. B. Ramesh, Finance Officer M.V. Vijayalakshmi, delegation member Nawab Najaf Ali Khan, Syndicate member Prof. Lakshminarayana, President of the Center for Global Languages Prof. Jyothi Venkatesh, and others.
