Covid-19: Karnataka 2 Short Of ‘Century’

The dreaded Covid-19 has now reached mining town Bellary as three fresh cases have been reported from one family, while two more cases have been reported from Mysuru. The state?s tally has now increased by 10 new cases reported till Tuesday morning, taking it to 98.

With Karnataka standing at number three after Maharashtra and Kerala state, two fresh cases have also been reported in Bengaluru after the last two days did not register a single positive case in the state capital.

10 new cases were detected in the period from 5 pm on March 30 to 8 am on March 31, and the details are as follows:

# P89: 52-year-old male, resident of Hospet, Bellary. The case is isolated in a designated hospital in Bellary. There is a history of travel to Bengaluru on 16.03.2020 and detailed investigation is under process.

# P90: 48-year-old female, resident of Hospet, Bellary. The case is isolated in a designated hospital in Bellary. There is a history of travel to Bengaluru on 16.03.2020 and detailed investigation is under process.

# P91: 26-year-old female, resident of Hospet, Bellary. The case is isolated in a designated hospital in Bellary. There is a history of travel to Bengaluru on 16.03.2020 and detailed investigation is under process.

# P92: 40-year-old male, resident of Bengaluru (Contact with P59). The case is isolated in a designated hospital in Bengaluru.

# P93: 19-year-old male, resident of Bengaluru, had a travel history to New York, returned to India on 22.03.2020. The case is isolated in a designated hospital in Bengaluru.

# P94: 40-year-old female, resident of Gowribidanur taluk, Chikkaballapur. The case is isolated in a designated hospital in Chikkaballapur.

# P95: 35-year-old male, resident of Mysuru (Contact with P52). The case is isolated in a designated hospital in Mysuru.

#P96: 41-year-old male, resident of Mysuru (Contact with P52). The case is isolated in a designated hospital in Mysuru.

# P97: 34-year-old male, resident of Dakshina Kannada, had a travel history to Dubai, returned to India on 18.03.2020. The case is isolated in a designated hospital in Dakshina Kannada.

#P98: 26-year-old male, resident of Bhatkal, Uttara Kannada, had a travel history to Dubai, returned to India on 20.03.2020. The case is isolated in a designated hospital in Uttara Kannada.

‘Report all respiratory cases’

Meanwhile, the commissionerate, health and family welfare services, has instructed all private hospitals to mandatorily report all Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) cases admitted by them to the district surveillance officer concerned.
