Bengaluru Burns: City Reaches Scorching 38.5 Degrees Celsius on Sunday
BENGALURU: The scorching heat continues to plague Bengaluru, with the city reaching a maximum temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday, as reported by weather experts.
CP Patil, the Director of the Meteorological Centre at the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) in Bengaluru, stated that on April 27, the city experienced a temperature of 37.4 degrees Celsius, marking a departure of 3.3 degrees Celsius from the normal maximum temperature.
This year’s highest temperature is yet to surpass the all-time high of 39.2 degrees Celsius recorded on April 25, 2016, according to Patil.
In contrast, Kalaburgi, which has consistently recorded the highest maximum temperatures in Karnataka, saw a slight decrease. The city recorded a temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday, compared to 42.4 degrees Celsius the day before, as per IMD data.
While Bengaluru is expected to remain dry on April 30, with temperatures possibly reaching 39 degrees Celsius, IMD forecasts light rain in certain areas of Bidar, Kalaburgi, Yadgir, Vijayapura, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Mysuru, Belagavi, Bagalkote, and Raichur.
