Highest tally in Bengaluru, followed by 24 in Padarayanapura
BENGALURU:
The two major containment zones in Bengaluru city — Hongasandra and Padrayanapura — are giving officials sleepless nights. Five new positive cases from Hongasandra on Saturday have taken its tally to 26 — the highest in the city in the last 2 months.
As per the health officials, Padarayanapura had reported 23 positive cases as of Saturday afternoon, while Hongasandra has 26.
A 54-year-old from Bihar, the prime infected patient in Hongasandra, has caused a cascading number of infections, setting off alarm bells in the health department. This apart Tipu Nagar is the third cluster in the city which has reported around 10 positive cases.
As per the media bulletin, 2 of the infected patients are 17 and 19 years old while the other three are 37, 21 (female) and 28 years old. All have been shifted to a designated hospital.
All the Hongasandra patients have been named patients 476 to 480.
