Bengaluru/Bagalkote: Sending a strong political message ahead of the upcoming electoral battle, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asserted that the Congress government will remain firmly in power for the next two years, declaring, “We will continue in power, and I will remain the Chief Minister of this state.”

Addressing a public gathering in Bagalkote, the Chief Minister urged voters to back the Congress candidate, emphasising that only a Congress representative can ensure sustained development in the constituency. He pitched Umesh Meti as the right choice, highlighting his connection to the legacy of senior leader H.Y. Meti and expressing confidence that ongoing development works would continue seamlessly under his leadership.

Siddaramaiah framed the election as a choice between governance and stagnation, stating that voters must elect a “people-centric leader” who can carry forward welfare-oriented policies. He appealed to the electorate to turn out in large numbers on polling day and cast their vote in favour of the Congress symbol to ensure victory.

Reinforcing his political confidence, the Chief Minister’s assertion about continuing in power for the remaining tenure comes amid ongoing political narratives around leadership stability in Karnataka. His statement is being seen as a direct message to both party cadres and opposition ranks that the government remains stable and focused on governance.

The Bagalkote address also underlined Congress’s strategy of banking on continuity, local leadership, and welfare-driven development as key electoral themes, with Siddaramaiah positioning the party as the only viable option for sustained progress in the region.
