Bengaluru/New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi on Saturday confirmed that he met AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi along with legislators Rajanna, Konda Reddy, and Basanagouda Patil, where they discussed the prevailing political situation in Karnataka.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Jarkiholi described the interaction as a routine high-level consultation but acknowledged that certain “confusions” within the party were brought to Kharge’s notice. He said the leadership has assured that a decision would be taken at the earliest.
“We have conveyed the concerns regarding the confusion in the state unit. The high command has given some suggestions and assured us that the matter will be resolved soon,” Jarkiholi said.
While he did not specify a timeline, he indicated that the leadership has reached a conclusion in principle and action could follow shortly. “The entire party — including MLAs, ministers, and workers — wants clarity. Repeated statements leading to confusion, especially regarding authority and coordination, should stop. It is better that the issue is settled without further delay,” he added.
Kharge is expected to travel to Bengaluru later, and party circles anticipate further consultations in the coming days, particularly ahead of the upcoming budget session.
Political observers view the Delhi meeting as a significant step toward stabilising internal dynamics within the Karnataka Congress and ensuring unified messaging from the leadership.
