Karnataka Voter Fraud Battle Intensifies: BJP Counters Rahul Gandhi with Records Targeting CM Siddaramaiah’s Constituency
Bengaluru: The political slugfest over alleged voter fraud in Karnataka has escalated sharply, with BJP leaders releasing documents to counter Rahul Gandhi’s accusations. After the Congress leader recently claimed “massive voter list manipulation” in the state and accused the BJP and Election Commission of collusion, the BJP hit back with its own set of records—this time targeting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s Varuna constituency.
BJP MLA Aravind Limbavali showcased voter list entries from Varuna displaying “0000” in the address column, alleging these were bogus voters. The party also pointed to similar discrepancies in Raichur, Maski, Manvi, and Sandur, questioning whether Congress MLAs, including the CM, were complicit in voter fraud.
The BJP further alleged that bulk voter registrations existed in BTM Layout, with one property hosting 16 registered voters, raising questions over Minister Ramalinga Reddy’s constituency. They also highlighted duplicate entries in Chamrajpet (represented by Zameer Ahmed Khan) and Mahadevapura, where names like Ayisha Banu and Rehmatulla allegedly appeared in multiple booths.
The BJP’s counter comes after Congress accused Gurukir Singh of being listed in four booths and claimed large-scale irregularities in the voter list. Limbavali challenged Congress to explain why Rahul Gandhi, despite “having all the evidence,” did not submit a declaration to the Election Commission of India.
BJP leaders have now prepared a PPT-based presentation for Delhi, intending to “expose Congress’s lies” with chronological data from multiple constituencies. They argue that voter list preparation is overseen by state-appointed revenue and municipal officers, meaning irregularities would point directly to the ruling Congress government.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders, including Minister Rajanna, have defended Rahul Gandhi’s statements, saying the voter list was compiled during their tenure and any lapses should have been addressed then. The war of documents, however, continues to dominate Karnataka’s political narrative, with both sides accusing each other of mass-scale electoral manipulation.
