46-years-old tests positive for Covid in Gandhinagar, positivity rate rises to 19.37 pc in just one day

BENGALURU: A 46-year-old man has tested positive for Covid-19 at Gandhinagar in the city. He has no travel history and health officials are investigating how he contracted the virus. He is currently undergoing treatment in home isolation.

Meanwhile, the Covid-19 positivity rate has doubled in the state in just two days. The positivity rate has increased to 19.37 per cent with every 20 out of 100 people testing positive. On Monday, 191 Covid tests were conducted, and 37 people tested positive.

The Health Department is increasing Covid testing due to the rising number of cases and positivity rate. On May 25, the positivity rate was 8.65 pc, which rose to 19.37 pc on May 26, with 381 tests conducted and 37 positive cases.

On Tuesday, the positivity rate has decreased to 9.44 pc, with 16 people discharged from the hospital.
