4-year-old child miraculously escaped in stray dog attack

DODDABALLAPUR/BENGALURU:

In a shocking incident, a stray dog viciously attacked a 4-year-old girl while she was innocently playing in a field. The dog lunged at her, sinking its teeth into her delicate neck before knocking her to the ground. However, by a stroke of luck, her relatives arrived on the scene just in time, allowing the young girl to narrowly escape the clutches of danger.

This terrifying event unfolded yesterday evening at Vasavi Kalyana Mandap in Ganigarapet. Rajeev’s daughter, Svivati, was engrossed in play with other children in the field, blissfully unaware of the impending danger that lurked nearby.

The dog’s attack left her with deep scratches on her back, but thanks to the timely arrival of a relative, the girl was rescued from the clutches of the ferocious canine. Reflecting on the harrowing incident, Rajeev expressed his gratitude that the dog did not manage to bite her neck, as the consequences could have been dire.

Unfortunately, Doddaballapur has been grappling with an alarming rise in the number of stray dogs. Just yesterday, five people were bitten in Shantinagar, while ten others fell victim to dog attacks in Rojipur. Shockingly, last month alone, a staggering 800 individuals were bitten by these stray dogs, leaving the community deeply disturbed and concerned.

Despite the mounting crisis, municipal officials, who are responsible for addressing this issue, have been shockingly inactive. Although work orders have been issued to contractors to capture the stray dogs, no concrete action has been taken thus far. Frustrated by the municipal council’s negligence, local residents have issued a stern warning, threatening to stage a protest right outside the municipal office.
