2 cases in Bengaluru after 3-day break

BENGALURU:

Seven new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Karnataka, taking the state’s tally to 425. Of Wednesday’s new cases, one is a 4-month-old baby from Kalaburagi.

The health department’s  bulletin claims the baby is a contact of patient 329, who is  a 6-year-old boy from Vijayapura and was a contact of patient 221 (a 60-year-old female from Vijayapura and a case of SARI).

After a 3-day relief window for Bengaluru with no new case, the city reported two new cases on Wednesday morning.

Five of the 7 patients are contacts of previous patients, which indicates that primary contact is now the major source of transmission, whereas earlier it was travel history. Two SARI cases have been reported in Bengaluru and Kalaburagi.

Patient details
1. Patient 419: 54 years, male from Bengaluru Urban and a case of SARI.
2. Patient 420: 28 years, female from Bengaluru Urban and contact of P-208.
3. Patient 421: 46 years, female from Kalaburagi and contact of P-222.
