Covid tests to continue on Saturday
BENGALURU:
After journalists in Mumbai and Tamil Nadu were found infected with Covid-19, the Karnataka government got into ‘red alert’ mode and in last two days it collected samples of 297 journalists who are reporting on the deadly virus in Bengaluru.
The samples were collected after Education Minister Suresh Kumar took the initiative and wrote to Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, asking him to direct officials to arrange similar tests for journalists who are covering Covid-19 developments in Bengaluru and the state.
Mostly journalists from the electronic media were covered on Thursday and on Friday — both from TV and print media were screened at the CV Raman Nagar Covid-19 Hospital in Bengaluru. The screening of journalists will continue on Saturday.
