BBMP marshals fine them Rs 15 k, Rs10 k

As part of Covid prevention measures, the existing laws on spitting dumping waste in public spaces are being strictly enforced.
Recently, BBMP Solid Waste Management Special Commissioner Randeep Dev tweeted: “Stricter vigilance during COVID-19 times. Spitting and dumping of garbage in public spaces are punishable by law. Be responsible for the safety of yourself and others.”Â
On Sunday night, BBMP marshals nabbed 2 persons, including a chicken seller, for dumping animal waste and imposed heavy fines on them.
According to sources, the BBMP marshals were on night patrol in Vijayanagar when they caught two persons dumping animal waste in Deepanjali Nagar. The offenders were fined Rs 15,000 andRs 10,000 each.
BBMP has said it will cancel the licences of repeat offenders.Â
