TUMAKURU: The Forest Department nabbed 18 youths for hunting wild animals at the chinkara wildlife reserve near Bukkapatna in Sira taluk. However, since all were minors, an FIR was registered and they were released.
The youths belong to Thippanahalli and Badavanahalli in Madhugiri taluk, Kallipalya in Sira taluk and Kenchaiahnapalya in Tumakuru taluk. The Forest officials have seized a vehicle, nets, wooden sticks, weapons. and other items in the possession of the youths.
Over the last few days, instances of hunting of wild animals has increased. Based on specific information, the Forest Department staff nabbed the youths.
