BENGALURU: The younger son of former underworld don Muthappa Rai, Rikki Rai, was shot near his father’s house in Bidadi on Friday night. The incident occurred around 11:30 pm, with Rikki Rai sustaining injuries to his nose and hand. He is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru.

The shooting took place as Rikki Rai was traveling from Bidadi to Bangalore in a car. The assailants targeted the driver’s seat, but Rikki Rai managed to escape unharmed as he was seated in the back. The driver also suffered injuries to his back during the incident.

Rikki Rai, who resides in Russia, had only arrived in Bengaluru two days prior to the shooting. While he typically drives himself, on this particular night, he had asked the driver to take the wheel. It is reported that Rikki Rai was seated in the back with the gunman at the time of the attack.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and have filed a case in connection with the shooting.
