Yelahanka sub-registrar staff in Rs 500-crore land scam

An FIR has been lodged by Yelahanka tahsildar N Raghu Murthy at the Sampigehalli police station against 28 persons, including staff in the sub-registrar’s office, for trying to grab land worth Rs 500 crore by forging documents.

The land in question is 17 acres, 22 guntas out of 21 acres, 19 guntas of government land at Chokkanahalli (survey No 75/4, 6) of Yelahanka taluk.

The accused claimed that the land was allotted to them and that they had a khata.

On suspicion, the documents were sent to the FSL, which said they were fake. Based on an order by the Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner, an FIR was filed.

On March 9, a 10-acre parcel was fraudulently sold for Rs 40 crore. In this connection, the tahsildar filed a case against 10 persons. Subsequently, the land in question was fenced.
