Veteran Kannada journalist succumbs to Covid

Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi have condoled the death of veteran journalist Somasekhar Yadavatti, who succumbed to Covid-19 at a private hospital in the city on Sunday.

“Being a simple, well-mannered man, he was known for his impartial and objective reporting. My recent interview with him after the government completed one year is still green in my memory,” the CM said.

Yadavatti (50) was chief correspondent of the ‘Samyuktha Karnataka’ daily newspaper. Dharwad-based Yadavatti had worked in several media organizations, including ETV, Karunada Sanje and Udayavani.

He had been working till Friday, when he was admitted to a private hospital with Covid symptoms.
