Udupi Mother and Child Massacre Case: Accused Praveen Chowgule Transferred to Bengaluru Central Jail

Date:

UDUPI:

Praveen Chowgule, the accused in the brutal murder of four members of the Nejar family, has been relocated to Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru. This move was made due to concerns over his safety and security.

Since November 22, Praveen Chowgule has been held in judicial custody at Hiriadka Jail. However, due to the severity of the case, he has been kept in a separate cell with enhanced security measures. The Udupi court granted permission to transfer him to another facility, as the district jail lacked adequate security.

Following the approval and guidance of prison department authorities, Praveen Chowgule was escorted to the Bengaluru jail this morning under police supervision. Police sources have confirmed that the accused arrived in Bengaluru in the evening and has been handed over to the Central Jail authorities.
