TUMKURU:
In a deeply saddening turn of events, a student at Siddhartha Engineering College in Tumkur has taken their own life. The victim, Banasiri (20), was found hanging in the college hostel, which is owned by the Karnataka’s Home Minister, Dr. G Parameshwara.
Banasiri was a third-semester student in the IS department of the Bachelor of Engineering program.
Upon receiving the distressing news, DySP Chandrasekhar and Tilak Park Circle Inspector promptly visited the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.
The Tilak Park Police Station has taken charge of the case. Initial speculations suggest that the deceased student may have been driven to suicide due to the pressure of unfinished subjects in the examination. Banasiri hailed from Holalkere in the Chitradurga district.
This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the college community and beyond.
