Tremors felt in Hassan taluk of Karnataka

No casualties or damage from low-intensity quake

BENGALURU:

An earthquake of magnitude 2.3 on the Richter scale occurred around 5.30 pm on Friday, with its epicentre near Rayapura, Salagame hobli of Hassan taluk in Karnataka.

According to a statement by Commissioner Manoj Rajan of the Karnataka Disaster Management Authority, the epicentre was:
o 3.4 km SW of Puradama
o 1.9 km SSE of Kumarihalli
o 2.30 km SE of Devarahalli
o 1.95 km NE of Madihalli
o 3.3 km W of Chowdenahalli

No casualties or damage to property was reported as the tremor was of low intensity.
