In a recent development, a notorious thief who resorted to stealing bikes in order to satisfy his craving for liquor has been apprehended in Bengaluru. The culprit has been identified as Lakshman, and the Giri Nagar Police have promptly registered a case against him.
According to the authorities, Lakshman had a modus operandi wherein he would steal bikes from one police station jurisdiction and abandon them within the limits of another police station. He would then proceed to strip the stolen vehicles of their batteries and tires, which he would subsequently sell to fund his alcohol addiction.
Shockingly, the accused has a staggering total of 15 cases registered against him across various police stations. However, the Giri Nagar police have managed to recover approximately 20 two-wheelers, valued at a staggering 11.55 lakhs, from his possession.
This arrest serves as a significant victory for law enforcement agencies, as it not only puts an end to Lakshman’s criminal activities but also helps curb the rising incidents of bike theft in the city. The diligent efforts of the Giri Nagar police have undoubtedly made the streets of Bengaluru safer for its residents.
