Step Forward for Census 2027: Public Invited to Self-Enumerate from April 1 to 15
Bengaluru Rural: In a significant move towards making Census 2027 more inclusive and citizen-friendly, the district administration has opened the doors for public participation through a convenient self-enumeration process. Deputy Commissioner Dr. K.N. Anuradha has called upon residents to actively take part and contribute to building an accurate demographic profile of the district.
The self-enumeration facility will be available from April 1 to April 15, 2026, offering citizens a valuable opportunity to complete their census details ahead of the official house listing process, which begins on April 16.
Residents can easily access the official portal census.gov.in and submit their household information online using mobile phones, laptops, or desktops. This initiative not only saves time but also empowers families to ensure that their data is entered correctly and completely.
To make the process seamless, users will need to provide essential location details such as State, District, Taluk, and locality. Advanced features like PIN code-based identification and digital map tagging further enhance accuracy and ease of use.
The self-enumeration system has been thoughtfully designed, mirroring the official enumeration format, with some fields pre-filled to reduce effort. Helpful resources, including FAQs and step-by-step guidelines, are also available to guide users at every stage.
Upon successful submission, each household will receive a unique Self-Enumeration ID via SMS and email. This ID can be shared with the visiting enumerator, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free verification process.
Reassuring citizens, Dr. Anuradha emphasised that all personal information will be handled with complete confidentiality, encouraging widespread participation.
With just a few clicks, residents now have the chance to be part of a national exercise that shapes planning, policy, and progress—making every individual count in the journey of Census 2027.
