BENGALURU:
Stepping up the drive against the drugs trade, the city police have started using sniffer dogs at likely drug conduits like long-distance bus stop.
“In connection with Sandalwood-drugs link, narcotics sniffer dogs are being used for drug detection in Bengaluru,” CCB Joint Commissioner Sandeep Patil said.
The breeds in service are Belgian Malinois, Doberman and German Shepherd. They will be deployed all over the city, especially in transport hubs like Majestic. Patil said the Belgian Malinois is the best in terms of sense of smell.
