Belagavi DC sets up Covid testing centre at Kuganoli checkpost
BELAGAVI:
Amid the spread of the Delta Plus variant in neighbouring Maharashtra and the surge in Covid-19 cases there, the Karnataka government has decided to make mandatory a negative RT-PCR report for people arriving in the bordering Belagavi district.
Belagavi Deputy Dommissioner MG Hiremath, along with other officials, visited the Kuganoli checkpost and set up a Covid testing centre to conduct mandatory RT-PCR tests for those arriving without a negative certificate.
Hiremath said, “Travellers arriving at Belagavi will have to carry an RT-PCR negative certificate mandatorily, and those not bringing a certificate will have to undergo testing at the border.”
