Saturday morning raid by CCB sleuths at Parapanna Agrahara unearths knives, mobiles, ganja
BENGALURU:
When anti-social elements are arrested and put behind bars, one assumes law-and-order is on top of its game and a modicum of peace is restored in society. But apparently rowdyism does not recognize prison boundaries either. Early on Saturday, Central Crime Branch sleuths conducted a surprise raid at Parapanna Agrahara — Bengaluru’s Central Jail – and recovered a massive haul of knives, mobile phones, SIM cards, ganja and other items.
The haul included 2 mobiles, 4 Sim cards, 3 pen drives, 3 memory cards, 26 knives, 7 ganja pipes, 200 grams ganja, and Rs 7,710 in cash from notorious rowdies Kungal Giri, Ullal Karthik, Kulla Rizwan, Bombay Salim, Auto Rama, Sujit Bhargava and Thimmesh.
The raid was led by CCB Joint Commissioner Sandeep Patil, who later tweeted: “To monitor rowdy activities, early morning raid conducted at Parapanna Agrahara Jail by CCB team along with dog squad… Ganja, ganja smoking pipes, mobiles, SIMs, knives seized…Further action to be taken..”
