BENGALURU:
After 21 days in quarantine, a Belagavi nurse attached to a designated Covid-19 hospital has been re-united with her infant daughter.
On April 8, a video had gone viral of a 3-year-old girl crying and asking her mother, a nurse on Covid-19 duty, to come back. Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa was moved at the sight and had spoken to the nurse in a bid to boost her morale.
On Saturday, Belagavi BIMS hospital nurse Sunanda Korikoppa, a resident of Halaga village in Belagavi, completed 21 days in quarantine and could at last hug her daughter Aishwarya, shedding tears of joy.
The nurse said that not seeing her little girl for 21 days had been very painful. But she could not sidestep her self-quarantine obligation.
