Yediyurappa will complete his term in office: Mines Minister
BENGALURU/MYSURU:
Ruling out any change of leadership in Karnataka, Mines Minister and influential Lingayat leader Murugesh Nirani said Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will complete his remaining two years in office.
Replying to a reporter’s query, the Minister said, “There is no question of a leadership change in the state and BS Yediyurappa will complete his term. BSY has been handling the Covid-19 pandemic effectively and talk of leadership change is just a rumour. We will face the next election under his leadership.”
Sand mafia warned
Warning the sand mafia of more stringent measures, the Minister said, “Steps are being taken to implement a new sand policy. Cases will not be filed against farmers and locals who transport sand in bullock carts, and instructions have been given to the Mines and Geology department and the police in this regard.”
