NEP will initially be implemented in govt colleges, and later across Karnataka: Ashwath Narayan

The National Education Policy (NEP) will be implemented in the government’s higher education institutions from the current academic year (2021-22), DyCM Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, who also holds the Higher Education portfolio, said on Monday.
Addressing a meeting of educationists at Karnatak University, Dr Narayan said the NEP will be implemented with the use of LMS (Learning Management System) and UUCMS (Unified University College Management System).

‘Pvt colleges can start NEP this year’
Dr Narayan, who visited the Dharwad Regional Science Centre later, said the NEP will be implemented in government colleges this year and in the entire state by 2023. Private colleges which have good infrastructure should come forward to implement the NEP from the current year itself, he suggested.
Prof Gudasi, Vice-Chancellor, Karnataka University, Dr Thimmegowda, Vice-Chairperson, State Higher Education Council, Prof Sankanuru, MLC, Dr Eshwar Bhat and representatives of various institutions were present.
