Expert committee will be formed to revive Mandya sugar factory: Bommai
BENGALURU:
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday said the cabinet’s decision to lease out the Mysugar factory in Mandya will be put on hold and an expert committee will be formed to revive the factory. The government will make all possible efforts to revive the factory in the interest of farmers.
He was speaking to the media after a meeting with farmer leaders and elected representatives of Mandya district in Bengaluru.
By-products option
Experienced senior officers and experts will be appointed to Mysugar and steps will be taken for capacity-building. The experts’ team will give its recommendations to the government within 3 months. Options of manufacturing by-products such as ethanol and co-generation will be explored, he added.
