BENGALURU: Muslim girl and Hindu youth were harassed and assaulted in a recent incident of moral policing in Bengaluru. The police are currently investigating the video footage to determine the location of the incident and identify the perpetrators.
The girl and her friend were sitting on a two-wheeler when a group of youths approached them, hurling abusive language and physically attacking her friend. The youths questioned the girl’s presence there instead of being in college and demanded her parents’ contact information. They criticized her for her Muslim background, asking if her actions were in line with her upbringing.
The situation escalated as the youths surrounded the pair, using more abusive language. Despite the girl’s attempts to defend herself and protect her Hindu friend, the gang continued to intimidate them. The girl warned them to stay out of their personal affairs, but one of the youths proceeded to slap her and assault her friend.

The incident was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage. The video was shared on a page called “Namma Modi.” Many individuals have criticized the state government, questioning whether this constitutes moral policing and suggesting the implementation of Sharia law in the state.
The police are actively working to trace the source of the video and locate the group of youths involved. Mohan Gowda of Hindu Janajagruti Vedike expressed concern over the lack of action taken by the police in similar cases where Hindu youths are targeted by Muslim groups. He highlighted the need for equal treatment and protection for all individuals, regardless of their religious background.
