BENGALURU:
Minister for Co-operation ST Somashekhar on Tuesday went into voluntary home quarantined after a close aide was diagnosed with Covid-19.
The minister’s office has been sanitized and public entry is restricted. A notification from his office said: “The minister’s office in ground floor room No. 38-39 will be sanitized in the wake of confirmation of Covid to a close aide. Against this backdrop, Minister ST Somashekhar will be under home quarantine. Public access is also restricted for 7 days from now.”
Recently, ministers were put in charge of each of Bengaluru’s 8 zones for Covid-related coordination. Somashekhar is in charge of Rajarajeshwari Nagar Zone. In the course of his supervision, he had visited several places.
All programmes scheduled by the minister are now cancelled.
