Earlier in the day, on Tuesday, a thorough search operation was conducted in the dilapidated building by officials, but the leopard was nowhere to be found. Frustratingly, the operation had to be suspended at 7 o’clock in the evening. Determined not to let the leopard slip away, forest department officials decided to leave a bone as bait and patiently waited. Their patience paid off when the leopard was spotted near the old building around 11 pm.
The leopard briefly perched on the compound before retreating back into the safety of the old building. This sighting prompted the resumption of the operation, this time utilizing the thermal drone to track the leopard’s movements.
The drone captured incredible footage of the leopard as it stood on the compound, before gracefully leaping back into the building. Forest officers are now relying on this valuable footage to guide their ongoing efforts to capture the elusive leopard.
The situation in Bommanahalli remains tense as the leopard continues to elude capture. However, with the dedicated efforts of the Leopards Task Force and the use of advanced technology, there is hope that this magnificent creature will soon be safely apprehended.
