Karnataka CM urges Basava Kalyana Development Board to speed up project report

The Basava Kalyana Development Board Meeting chaired by Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa on Monday approved the action plan for 2021-22.
Out of 134 works taken up by the Board, 76 works have been completed and 58 works are pending.
The state government has earmarked Rs 500 crore for the Anubhava Mantapa project in Bidar district and Rs 200 crore have been allocated during the current financial year, the CM said. The project is coming up on 101 acres of land, of which individuals have donated 11.25 acres while the acquisition of the remainder has been delayed as farmers are demanding a higher rate for their land, the CM said.
The CM directed the Board officials to finalise the action plan of Rs 10 crore provided in this year’s budget, and also to finalise the DPR.
He accepted the suggestion of Eshwar Khandre , MLA from Balki, to hereafter invite all legislators of Bidar district to Board meetings.
The meeting also resolved to hold a state-level negotiation meeting with farmers over acquisition of their land for the project.
Kaginele Development Authority
At the Kaginele Development Authority meeting chaired by the CM on Monday, an expenditure of Rs 14 crore was approved for various works undertaken by the Authority. It was decided to open the Nature Cure Centre that has come up in the Authority’s premises without further delay.
Sangolli Rayanna Area Development Authority
A meeting chaired by the Chief Minister approved the action plan of the Sangolli Rayanna Area Development Authority for 2021-22. Clearance of pending bills to the tune of Rs 21 crore was also approved.
A sum of Rs 62 crore has been provided in this year’s budget for the activities of the Authority. The Authority has prepared an action plan involving an expenditure of Rs 279, of which Rs 159 crore has been spent since 2017.
The construction of a military school at Sangolli, the birthplace of Rayanna, has been completed. The Chief Minister instructed the Authority to sign an MoU with the Defence Ministry in connection with the starting of academic activities, including the recruitment of teachers and other staff. He said he would speak to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in this connection.
The Chief Minister directed the authorities to complete the work of the museum and the rock garden at Nandagadh this year.
