The woman’s relative, Karthik, who happened to be in the corridor at the time, noticed the three women taking away the child and immediately alerted his grandmother.

According to Police Superintendent M Narayan, the mother was asleep when the child was snatched from the NICU. “Three women took the child in a handbag. Karthik, the woman’s relative, woke up his grandmother and informed her about the abduction. Unfortunately, there were no security guards present at the hospital. Based on the information provided by Karthik, we reviewed the CCTV footage and initiated a search.”
