BENGALURU: The Karnataka Lokayukta Police recently conducted search operations across the state in connection with complaints regarding disproportionate asset cases involving four government officers. These cases were registered in Lokayukta Police Stations in Bengaluru, Kolar, Davanagere, and Yadagiri.
Simultaneous searches were carried out at the residences, offices, and relatives’ residences of the accused government officers at more than 24 locations. During these searches, information regarding their acquisition of disproportionate assets was uncovered.

One of the officers involved is G Srinivasa Murthy, Executive Engineer, BBMP, Malleshwaram Zone, Bengaluru. Searches were conducted at nine locations, revealing assets including four sites, six houses, cash, ornaments, and vehicles totaling Rs. 3,45,55,500/-.
Another officer, Suresh Babu G, Survey Supervisor, ADLR Office, Kolar Taluk, Kolar Dist, had searches conducted at six locations. The assets found included three sites, five houses, agricultural land, cash, ornaments, vehicles, and household articles totaling Rs. 8,18,51,000/-.
M B Ravi, an Assistant Executive Engineer with the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board in Davanagere, was subject to searches at four locations by the Anti-Graft Officials. During the searches, the following assets were discovered: – Immovable Assets: 4 sites, 2 houses, valued at a total of Rs. 1,25,11,000. Movable Assets: Rs. 31,500 in cash, ornaments worth Rs. 35,72,200, vehicles worth Rs. 20,77,000, and other household articles totaling Rs. 50,00,000. The total value of movable assets was Rs. 1,06,80,700
– Total Value of Assets: Rs. 2,31,91,700.
Dr. Raja Venkappa Nayak, the Taluk Health Officer in Surapura, Yadagiri, was also searched at five locations by the Anti-Graft Officials. The searches revealed the following assets: Immovable Assets: 11 sites, 2 houses, 13 acres of agricultural land, 1 petrol bunk, 1 nursing home, and 1 lodge and bar, valued at a total of Rs. 11,05,00,000. Movable Assets: Rs. 4,10,860 in cash, ornaments worth Rs. 60,00,000, vehicles worth Rs. 70,00,000, and other household articles totaling Rs. 20,00,000. The total value of movable assets was Rs. 1,54,10,860 – Total Value of Assets: Rs. 12,59,10,860
These cases highlight the importance of transparency and accountability in public service. These search operations have shed light on the alleged disproportionate assets held by these government officers, leading to further investigation and legal action.
