Minister Suresh Kumar says govt has not taken any decision so far
BENGALURU:
In a major development, Karnataka’s Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar has made it clear that his government is in no hurry to reopen schools from October 1, amid the Covid pandemic and despite Unlock5 which allows state governments to take a call on reopening of schools.
Tueday’s Facebook post of the minister, who is currently on a tour of Bidar district, thus clears the doubts of parents about the reopening of schools from October 1.
“No decision has been taken on the start of schools-colleges. The idea of starting schools-colleges is not in front of the government,” he said.
Kumar continued, “I invite views of lawmakers, MPs and other representatives on this matter…”
“I also interacted with teacher organizations and education experts on this particular issue…”
“I am currently on a trip to Bidar district and will come back to Bengaluru with more details…”
“I am clarifying once again that no decision has been made as to the date of commencement of our state school-colleges,” Kumar concluded.
