Bengaluru: In a significant administrative development, the Government of Karnataka has promoted seven IAS officers of the 2012 batch to the Selection Grade (Level 13 of the Pay Matrix) with retrospective effect from January 1, 2025. The officers will continue in their existing positions until further orders, according to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) on Monday.
The promotions have been approved based on the concurrence of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, through its letter dated November 13, 2025.
1) Sri Basavarajendra H., IAS (KN:2012)
• Currently: Commissioner, Department of Public Libraries, Bengaluru
• Promoted to: Selection Grade
• Continuation: Will remain in the same post
• Additional charge: Continues as Director, Government Flying Training School (GFTS)
2) Dr. Gopala Krishna H. N., IAS (KN:2012)
• Currently: Commissioner for Labour, Bengaluru
• Promoted to: Selection Grade
• Continuation: Retains current post
3) Dr. Shiva Shankara N., IAS (KN:2012)
• Currently: Managing Director, BESCOM, Bengaluru
• Promoted to: Selection Grade
• Continuation: Continues in current role
4) Sri Vasantha Kumar P., IAS (KN:2012)
• Currently: Joint Secretary (Food Processing & Harvest Technology), Agriculture Department
• Promoted to: Selection Grade
• Posting: Will now officiate as Additional Secretary, same department
5) Sri Karee Gowda, IAS (KN:2012)
