Karnataka Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy Acknowledged reality of Load Shedding in State

BENGALURU:

Karnataka Minister Chaluvarayaswamy has acknowledged the reality of load shedding in Karnataka. In discussing this matter, he highlighted the existing problems within the electricity department. However, he assured that the Chief Minister is taking this issue seriously and is committed to resolving it. It is undeniable that load shedding is a significant problem in the state, as even Agriculture Minister Chaluvarayaswamy has admitted.

In response to allegations that the government is defying the orders of the Cauvery Water Control Committee, Chaluvarayaswamy defended his actions during his tenure as Chief Minister. He stated that he had released water at midnight, emphasizing that the current discussions are merely a distraction. He further added that the responsibility lies solely with the government, and no one else in Karnataka has the authority to make decisions regarding water distribution.

Regarding the recent order to release Cauvery water, the Cauvery River Water Control Committee has requested its implementation. Fortunately, the state has experienced rainfall for the past four days, resulting in a flow of 7-8 thousand cusecs of water. This has temporarily alleviated the water shortage issue. Additionally, the upcoming Dussehra festival is expected to bring further rainfall, which will be beneficial.

At present, there are no concerns regarding water leakage. The authority has instructed the release of 3 thousand cusecs, and the rainfall will contribute to meeting this requirement. We are grateful for the rain, and there are indications of more rainfall in Tamil Nadu in October. We remain hopeful that we will be blessed with further precipitation.
