BENGALURU:

A shocking blow to corruption unfolded in the early morning hours, as Lokayukta officials launched a widespread raid on corrupt individuals across 63 locations in the state, including the bustling city of Bengaluru.

Furthermore, the Lokayukta also targeted the residence of the brother of BJP state president BY Vijayendra’s wife, making this raid particularly significant.

In Bengaluru alone, three locations were targeted by the raid, with over 200 officers leading the investigation. However, the crackdown extended beyond the city limits, reaching Kalaburagi, Bidar, Bellary, Koppala, Chikkaballapur, Mysore, Kolar, and Dharwad. The Lokayukta officials were determined to uncover any illicit assets acquired through questionable means.

Not even high-ranking officials were spared from scrutiny. The homes of Bescom Vigilance Officer T.N. Sudhakar Reddy, Cooperative Chief Executive Officer H.S. Krishnamurthy, and a Milk Producers Cooperative Society Officer near Kumbalagud-Kaniminike were subjected to thorough searches and document inspections.

The Lokayukta operation extended to Mysore, where Nanjangudu Government First Class College Lecturer Mahadevaswamy faced the brunt of the raid.

Lokayukta ADGP Prashant Kumar and IGP Subramanyeswara Rao spearheaded the operation, with the assistance of P Suresh Babu, DySP Krishnaiah, and 12 dedicated teams.

Simultaneously, Lokayukta raid unfolded in Bellary and Vijayanagar districts. The residences of Chandrasekhara from the Mines and Earth Science Department and DRFO Maruti from the Forest Department in Bellary were targeted by officials.

The Lokayukta conducted a surprise raid in Bidar, targeting the house and complex of Sunil Kumar, an employee at Bidar Veterinary University. Lokayukta officials are currently verifying the documents found during the raid.
