Bangalore:
The Karnataka High Court has announced its Dasara (Dussehra) vacation from October 16 to 21. During this period, the Vacation Bench will handle duties in Bangalore, Dharwad, and Kalaburgi.
A division bench, led by Justices BM Shyam Prasad and T Venkatesh Naik, will preside over cases at the Bangalore bench. Meanwhile, urgent cases will be heard by single-member benches headed by Justice CM Poonacha and Justice TG Shivashankar Gowda.
In the Dharwad Bench, Justices K.S. Hemalekha and Anil B. Katti will initially handle division bench cases. Subsequently, the two justices will sit separately as one-judge benches to hear the remaining cases.
Similarly, a division bench, led by Justices HT Narendra Prasad and G Basavaraja, will first address division bench cases in the Kalaburgi bench. Then, single-member benches will individually handle the remaining cases.
The announcement specifies that only urgent cases, such as interim injunctions, directives, and temporary restraining orders, will be considered for trial.
Applications related to these cases can be submitted from 10 am to 12.30 pm, except on the day of the vacation bench hearing. On the day of the hearing, applications will be accepted from 10 am to 3.30 pm. Additionally, e-filing can be done through the e-filing portal, as stated by Judicial Registrar M. Chandrasekhar Reddy in a release.
