Bengaluru: In the past 20 days, Karnataka has witnessed a slight uptick in COVID-19 cases, with the current count standing at 35 active cases statewide. In response, the Health Department has emphasized the importance of adhering to COVID-19 precautions.
In a statement released on Friday, the department noted that 32 of the 35 active cases are concentrated in Bengaluru. Encouragingly, there have been no reported COVID-19-related deaths in 2025. While the current situation remains under control, officials advise the public to exercise caution and remain vigilant.
The Health Department particularly recommends that vulnerable groups—including pregnant women, children, and individuals with pre-existing health conditions—wear masks in crowded settings as a precautionary measure. Additionally, the department underscores the importance of maintaining hand hygiene and using hand sanitizer regularly.
To facilitate timely treatment and curb the spread of the virus, the Health Department will prioritize testing for individuals exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. By taking these proactive steps, we can collectively ensure the health and safety of our communities.
