Karnataka | Former Deputy Chief Minister’s Co-Owned Factory Hit by Devastating Boiler Explosion: One Dead, Two Critically Injured

BELAGAVI: A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday when a boiler exploded at Priya Exports, a factory co-owned by former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi, located on the outskirts of Chikkatti near Athani. The explosion resulted in the death of a woman, identified as Shobha Theli, and left two others critically injured.

The explosion, believed to have been caused by high pressure in the boiler, was so severe that it caused the walls of the factory to collapse. Priya Exports, which specializes in polishing maize for export, is co-owned by Athani MLA Laxman Savadi and a businessman from Sangli. The injured individuals were rushed to hospitals in Athani and Miraj, Maharashtra for urgent medical treatment.

Local authorities, including the Athani police, have conducted a thorough inspection of the site, and a case has been registered in connection with the tragic incident.
